FAQs

Let’s Try to Answer Some of Your Questions

Is a referral needed to see one of our physiotherapists?

  • No, you are able to make an appointment without a referral

  • A referral will be needed if you are being treated under Worker’s Compensation, CTP (Third party), Medicare (EPC) or Veteran affairs.

Private health insurance and Hicaps?

  • If you are with a private health fund, it allows you to automatically claim your rebate. Once this has been processed, you will then only have to pay the gap.

  • Our Hicaps machine also takes Visa, MasterCard, American express and Eftpos.

Medicare (EPC)

  • A Medicare rebate for chronic conditions is available for a maximum of five services per patient each calendar year.

  • Your GP will determine whether your injury or medical condition would benefit from Physiotherapy

First treatment

  • You will be thoroughly assessed and diagnosed by one of our experienced physiotherapists.

  • Treatment for your injury will then ensue. This may involve manual therapy, soft-tissue massage, dry needling, electro-therapy. We will then prescribe you with a home exercise program to maintain your mobility and strength.

  • Our physiotherapists will also recommend other specialists or alternative treatment if they feel your injury / condition requires you to do so.

  • A specialist review will require a GP referral.

Duration of consultation

  • Initial assessment for one area: 45 – 60 minutes

  • Initial assessment for multiple areas: 60 minutes +

  • Follow up – 30 – 40 min

If you need to cancel an appointment

Telephone the office during business hours and when possible try to allow at least 1 day’s notice so that we can offer your appointment time to patients on our waiting list.
